Dear friends,

This Thursday there will be a public hearing at the county's Environmental Quality Control Board (EQCB), in which they will most likely approve a variance which will allow wetlands to be filled in and MORE homes to be built in Cutler Bay. For more information on this issue, go to http://www.cutlerbay.net or http://www.citizenwatchdog.net.

Mr Cuellar,

I respectfully request that you do not approve the environmental variance requested by Cutler Properties LC at the November 9th hearing. Filling in the wetlands and building additional homes within our community will affect our environment, schools, traffic and our quality of life. The wetlands areas specified in the variance are vital to the ecological health of our community.

The residents of the Town of Cutler Bay were not adequately notified and therefore have not had the opportunity to voice our opinion on this matter!

The development of this property will eventually need zoning approval from the Town of Cutler Bay. Therefore it is in everyone's best interest to get both the town's and resident's input prior to allowing the fill of wetland property, an irreversible action.  If you chose to approve this variance, it should be contingent on the Town of Cutler Bay being able to review and submit their recommendation.

We ask that you give us the opportunity to review this proposal.

Thank you,
