Cutler Bay Council Seat 3 Candidate- Peggy Bell

Peggy Bell

As the first councilmember of Cutler Bay, Peggy Bell has served our town for the past four years. A resident of Cutler Bay for over 25 years, she grew up in Northern California. After college she came to Florida while working for Eastern Airlines. Here she met and married her husband, Martin. Married thirty years, they have a teenage son. She has been a community activist for many years and sits on several boards. She was instrumental in defeating Enron Corporation's attempt to build a power plant next to Cutler Bay. She was a founding member of the Cutler Ridge Area Steering Committee, an organization that for seven years researched the feasibility of, and ultimately promoted incorporation, serving as secretary. She co-founded United Citizens of Cutler Bay. A former PTSA president and 4H leader, she is a Florida realtor and works as office manager for Bell's Tree Nursery, a family-owned company.

During her term as a public servant she vows to make town government streamlined and efficient, keeping taxes as low as possible. Her special concerns are managing growth, to allow for as much park land and open spaces as possible, promoting local businesses, and through excellent police service, to provide a safe environment for everyone.

She has served as council liaison on several citizen advisory committees, including Parks and Recreation, which is still active. She feels "Citizen participation is crucial to the success of the town"

Ms. Bell states she is honored to serve the town and looks forward to continue to work toward improving the quality of life for Cutler Bay's residents while celebrating its small town feeling.
